Senior Java Architect - Basking Ridge, NJ - Full-time / Part-time

We are currently looking for a Web Portal Architect to oversee development teams within our Portal & Service Applications.  The Architect is responsible for determining the needs of the developments teams in areas of Technology, Security, Coding Best Practices, and Performance.  The Server Technology is primarily based around Java and it’s suite of tools, while the UI is based around JSPs, HTML5, CSS, JQuery, AngularJS, AJAX, and JSON. 
 
This position also requires handling Open Source exceptions, engaging in Security Audits and their resolutions as well as participating in Code Reviews and Mentor sessions to train the development teams.
 
We are seeking a qualified candidate who has experience in this area with a background in mentoring and presenting to Sr. Leaders.
 
Primary Responsibilities:

Articulate clearly when presenting solutions to senior management or mentoring the development teams
Create application and solution diagrams using UML
Oversee code reviews and coding standards
Understand security vulnerabilities from outside as well as internal and how to address them
Willing to learn new technologies, create Proof-of-concept applications showing their applicability and teach these technologies to the teams
Assist as needed with solving production problems
Create and implement Design and Development Patterns

Required Qualifications:

7+ years of hands on experience with Java, Spring Suite, JSP and Servlets
Strong understanding (hands-on experience preferred) of Security protocols like SiteMinder, SAML, Layer7, Oauth
Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
Solid understanding of databases – Oracle, SQL or DB2
Understanding of SOAP and RESTful services
Web Poral Architecture experience
ITG Build/Deployment Knowledge
IBM Rational Application Developer / Eclipse SME
Network integrations
WAS Administration
Audit Portal experience
Infrastructure experience
HIPAA Knowledge
