Sanitation Supervisor
Hours are 9 p.m. - 6:30 a.m.
Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays as needed
Is based in our production facility in Vernon, CA.

  1. Supervisor position is responsible for ensuring the plant is thoroughly cleaned and properly sanitized which includes breaking down each piece of equipment, having it inspected and then reassembling before production begins
  2. Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards of food quality, safe processes, compliance with all regulations and policies and a focus on continuous process improvement.
  3. Ensuring sanitizing practices are being followed, and monitoring chemical and sanitation supplies and equipment and ordering when necessary (Also maintaining inventory of chemicals for environmental reporting)
  4. Responsible for overall product quality to include ingredients, packaging & finished palletized product to the warehouse
  5. Inspect products and equipment for conformity to federal & state sanitation laws as well as plant standards
  6. Implementation of ongoing training program to develop personnel on proper cleaning techniques and chemical handling
  7. Confer with management and production personnel on sanitation problems, and recommends changes in equipment, plant process, or work practices to improve sanitation standards
  8. Compile required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies
  9. Organize, develop and implement sanitation programs
  10. Interprets labels on chemicals and cleaning agents to understand use, first aid instructions, SDS’s requirements and warnings.
  11. Hold daily pre-shift meetings with the sanitation and Quality crews.
  12. Supervise sanitation personnel to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  13. Conduct physical swab testing using the charm unit to evaluate effectiveness of sanitation efforts on equipment.
  14. Review and sign off on micro records, water plant records, cooler temperature, filters, spray balls, CCP, and batch records.
  15. Monitor chemical and micro inventory.
  16. Perform daily walks at the beginning of your shift to prioritize tasks to ensure that plant cleaning requirements are fulfilled per production and master sanitation schedules.
  17. Respond to e-mails in a timely manner
  18. Direct and assign daily tasks to sanitation employees, and follow up to make sure tasks assigned were completed
  19. Perform daily pre-start GMP inspections
  20. Microbiological records need to be reviewed daily and corrective actions assigned to any deviations.
  21. Batch units need to be verified for the following day’s production schedule to ensure we do not over or under batch syrup
  22. Kronos Timecards must be reviewed daily, and Overtime schedules must be entered.
  23. Perform end of shift walks with the oncoming supervisor to ensure Quality work areas are clean, and ready for the oncoming shift to start work.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience in Quality/Sanitation Food processing manufacturer
  • Minimum 3 years GMP/CIP experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes and procedures and understanding of sanitation
