Position Summary

Provides leadership to the organization in the areas of finance, managed care, information systems,, revenue cycle, patient registration / Scheduling, , and business office for HDH and all related entities including HDH Foundation, Professional Services Corporation, Physicians for Women, Joint Township District Hospital Foundation and Rural Health Collaborative. Through effective communication with the Board of Governors and teamwork with senior management, provides guidance on all matters affecting the financial health of the organization.

Position Accountabilities
Provides leadership and direction to the departments of accounting, information systems, materials management, patient information/accounts, plant services, housekeeping, and laundry.
Assists the CEO and in conjunction with senior management develops and executes short and long-range operational plans to insure financial viability of the organization.
Manages the cash flow of the organization. Identifies the need for and secures outside financing as required to support the short and long-range plans.
In conjunction with senior management, identifies and implements operational changes to improve financial performance and ensure optimal resource utilization.
Provides lead role in negotiation/communication with vendors/sellers in significant acquisitions.
Provides lead role in negotiation/communications with third party payors to maximize net revenues.
Assures full compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and all relevant Governmental Accounting Standards Board and healthcare reimbursement regulations.
Directs the development of the annual budgets.
Oversees the production of the annual Medicare and Medicaid cost reports and HCAP reporting.
Provides monthly/quarterly financial reports to and serves as primary resource person for all HDH boards on all financial matters.
Develops and implements reimbursement strategy regarding UPL, HCAP, Medicare, Medicaid and other third party payors.
Procures insurance. Assures adequate, appropriate insurance is maintained on HDH affiliated entities, facilities, and operations.
Educates and serves as a resource to department managers and directors regarding financial issues.
Collaborates with CEO or responsible vice president, and provides lead role in negotiating terms, conditions, and rates for all leased space.
Responsible for abiding by and adhering to all Corporate Compliance Program initiatives and standards.
Responsible for compliance with safety standards, policies and procedures.

Position Qualifications
Education -- Required:
Bachelors Degree in accounting. Masters Degree in accounting finance or business and CPA. preferred
Experience:
3-5 years experience as a senior financial manager in an acute care healthcare organization. 5-7 years experience as a vice president finance or chief financial officer in an acute care healthcare organization with experience in a broad range of diversified healthcare services preferred.
Competencies Required:
Financial management, strategic planning, project management, leadership and board communication skills. Knowledge of healthcare operations, reimbursement and information systems. Proficient at Word, Excel, Power Point.
Supervises:
Accounting Supervisor, , Manager of Business Office, Manager of Patient Registration/Centralized Scheduling, and Account Analyst, Controller
Physical Demands:
Subject to long and irregular hours; frequent interruptions and challenging situations. Work tends to be sedentary.
Work Environment:
Administrative, office environment
Work Schedule:
Hospital business hours. Requires attendance at meetings at various times of the day and evening and occasional travel. Requires administrative call on rotating basis. Must be willing to work according to hospital needs.
