IT Architect – Cloud Services
Are you passionate about cloud computing and its ability to transform the way companies deliver value to their customers? NaviSite is seeking experienced and dynamic cloud thought leaders to drive new service development and technology directions for our cloud and managed hosting solutions. This role is critical in defining and enforcing the technical and application architectures upon which NaviSite will services and solutions for Managed and Cloud Services to our customers. Working across organizations, a Sr. Technical Architect works to identify technologies by defining/implementing/enforcing best practices for new and existing customers. The Senior Technical Architect is a high impact, very visible role, responsible for driving best of breed technologies and methodologies to support delivery of NaviSite services.
The ideal candidate will have experience in forward looking technologies and success leading technical and economic value discussions with senior customer executives that drive key decisions and implementations. The success of this role depends on strong technical acumen, excellent communication skills, and ability to collaborate with generalists and specialists in the cloud delivery teams (including technology, partners, services, product engineering).
Job Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for all facets of the entire NaviSite product line including Cloud, Networking, Server, Storage and Backup solutions.

• Participate in vendor meetings to determine business and technical requirements that will be used to develop solutions that map within NaviSite capabilities.
• Provide technical product expertise during review of prospective and existing customers, advising on deployment architectures driving in-depth technical discussions.
• Articulate and define IT best practices for new product offerings and drive adherence to these technical architectures.
• Provide technical and liaison services for NaviSite Service Delivery regarding the implementation, configuration, performance monitoring, tuning, and customer production cutover of new customer environments.
• Work closely with Senior Service Delivery leadership and third party vendors and service providers to evaluate and recommend hardware and technology direction.
• Provide technical assistance with hardware purchases and procurement as required.
• Proven track record of building technical and business relationships with senior executives and growing alignment with strategic vendors.

Job Requirements:

• Experienced, focused, performance-driven and professional to serve as a technical evangelist for the NaviSite product set.
• 3 or more years’ experience in a senior IT architectural/engineering role with a similar suite of product lines or service offering (hosting, outsourcing, ISP, networking, DR Planning, cloud computing etc…).
• Strong Networking, Unix, Windows, Vmware, Azure expertise.
• 5 to 10 years technical experience in an IT technical leadership role with exposure to Agile/Scrum delivery methodologies.
• Experienced with keeping both internal and external clients happy by providing outstanding service with the ability speak with the most technical and non-technical person in the room.
• A team player who will help mentor teammates who are looking to get to the next level.
• Willing to identify and drive strategically technology decisions to accelerate customer expansion and reduce service delivery timeline.
