About this job
Specifically, the Tower Cellular Technician:
● Erecting, maintaining and repairing various tower types;
● Build wireless steelwork; assemble for antenna hook up;
● Install antennas, coax lines, fiber trunks, DC cables; adjust antenna direction and degree angle shooting;
● Connect jumpers and running cables; connecting these and ground work to units;
● Ground steel, weatherproofing, cable grounds, unit assembly;
● Off-loading material and inventory; preparation and cleaning of sites;
● Installation of new carriers on new build and existing towers; Install RRH's on tower, Racks, H-frames, Barber poles;
● Assist in tower erection using helicopters, cranes and gin poles;
● Assist in the assembly of monopole, all weld and knock down self-support and guyed towers;
● Assist in the antenna installation of microwave parabolic 1 to 15 foot, VHF, UHF, cellular and FM broadcast antennas;
● Assist in the transmission line and installation of foam or air dielectric coaxial, hardline and elliptical wave-guides;
● Sweep coax and/or test fibers;
● Complete and submit close-out packages;
● Operate a capstan winch effectively and safely;
● Direct responsibility for tool inventory and upkeep daily on job site;
● MANDATORY: ensure safety at all times; including Fall Safety procedures; wears appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures;
● Operates personal computer, or similar devices, to access required systems and equipment;
● Able to perform duties with little supervision; able to give technical assistance when called upon;
● Responsible for responding promptly/timely to alarms; ability to be on call 24/7; imperative to respond promptly to answering assigned phone and email;
● Performs work with the awareness of all potential hazards connected with tower climbing; the installation and maintenance of power supply equipment and other equipment, including but not limited to falls, electric shock, falling objects and traffic; uses safety equipment and utilizes safety practices; attends and participates in all designated safety and training meetings;
● Complies with all specifications, industry standards, safety rules and regulations and company policies and procedures;
● Completes other duties as assigned.
