Express Employment is looking for a Dispatcher for a full-time position.

The purpose of this position is to perform a variety of highly responsible and complex secretarial administrative duties,  clerical accounting duties, customer (citizen) interface, and communication center dispatch in support of Operations and Maintenance Division;  coordinate and participate in office functions  in support of the goals and objectives of the area of assignment; to relay issues and problems to respective departments or divisions for services as needed and appropriate; and provide information and assistance to the public regarding policies and procedures.

Duties may include:

  • Respond to requests and relay emergency and non- emergency calls to appropriate personnel for service
  • Receive incoming telephone calls; respond to public inquires in a courteous manner; provide information within the area of assignment; and resolve complaints in an efficient and timely manner
  • Coordinate and participate in the preparation of various reports, memoranda , and correspondence of legal, technical, or confidential nature
  • Maintain a calendar of activities, meetings, and various events for assigned staff; schedule meetings and coordinate activities within the department
  • Perform responsible administrative secretarial duties in support of Management staff
  • Perform a variety of the full range of general clerical duties including filing, record keeping, and data entry/query
  • Serve as liaison for the assigned area with other departments, divisions, and outside agencies; and answer questions and assist in resolving issues

Competencies:

  • Skills with interpersonal relationships
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely is a must as two-way radio and telephone communications are essential
  • Ability to read and write reports, prepare expositions and summaries with proper format, punctuation, spelling and grammar using all parts of speech
  • Intermediate math skills with the ability to deal with a system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement
  • Ability to utilize a full suite of office automation tools to include computer, printer, copier, telephone
  • Knowledge of and ability to fully utilize Microsoft Office and knowledge of or ability learn to use database
