Positions are available on Day & Night shifts with work scheduled 6:00 - 6:00 rotating days with every other weekend off. Night Shift premium of $1 / hour in addition to the hourly rate.



Responsibilities:


Operate a forklift to perform all aspects of raw material loading and unloading from trailers 25%

  1. Load and unload non-bulk raw materials between trailers and the building.
  2. Obtain samples for quality testing under sampling guidelines.
  3. Stock chemicals using FIFO (First In First Out) method.
  4. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with raw material unloading.


Communicate with the process areas and supply non-bulk chemicals needed for production 5%

Monitor and rotate chemicals on shelves using FIFO (First in First out) method 5%

Learn to perform all aspects of raw material offloading from railcars 25%

Perform staging and preparation of railcars for offloading to include but not limited to:

  1. Operate the railcar moving equipment to move railcars into staging area.
  2. Operate the brake system functions of the railcar.
  3. Perform the disconnect and connect procedures of the railcar couplers.
  4. Perform the controller operations.
  5. Perform transfer of raw material from railcar to storage tanks or trucks.
  6. Obtain and deliver samples for quality testing with each initial offload.
  7. Complete offloading by air only, pump only, or air assisted pump procedures.
  8. Perform rail car steaming when needed.
  9. Perform sanitization of all lines after each offload.
  10. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with railcar offloading.


Perform all aspects of raw material offloading from trucks 15%

  1. Perform transfer of raw material from truck to storage tanks or railcars.
  2. Obtain and deliver samples for quality testing with each initial offload.
  3. Complete offloading by air only, pump only, or air assisted pump procedures.
  4. Perform truck bin steaming when needed.
  5. Perform valve setup procedures for truck offloading when needed.
  6. Perform sanitization of all lines after each offload.
  7. Complete all necessary paperwork associated with truck offloading.


Perform all Non-Bulk Raw Material related duties as described 10%

Perform daily activities to increase efficiency 10%

  1. Perform pre-shift organization.
  2. Monitor tank levels to ensure chemicals are available to support process areas.
  3. Maintain inventory levels of all chemicals and communicate shortages to supervisor and purchasing coordinator.
  4. Communicate with process areas to determine chemicals needed for production.
  5. Complete the Extended Time Shutdown procedure as needed.


Perform other duties as determined by management 5%

Attendance is an essential function of the job.

Must be at the workstation at the beginning of the shift.

Must continuously follow all safety policies and procedures on the job.

Maintain an awareness of and use Good Manufacturing Practices.

For safety and business purposes, must have communication skills including reading, writing and must be able to communicate to others as well as be able to receive communication from others.


EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE JOB:

  1. High School Diploma or GED required
  2. Prior forklift experience preferred
  3. Prior hazardous material training preferred but not required
  4. Basic math
  5. Complete/completed training requirements for Raw Material Handler




JOB SKILLS REQUIRED FOR THE JOB:

  1. Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner which enables the employee to get along with customers, clients, co-workers and management.
  2. Must be able to follow verbal and written instruction.
  3. Must have organizational skills.
  4. Must have basic mechanical aptitude.

  • Dust Mask Under 10%
  • Respirator (Use of a respirator requires the satisfactory completion of a medical questionnaire and, if deemed necessary by the Safety Department, a Pulmonary Function Test.) X Under 10%
  • Long hair must be tied back – must not exceed collar length

MAXIMUM LENTH OF TIME TO COMPLETE TRAINING REQUIREMENTS: 12 months
Must complete and demonstrate proficiency of mandatory training requirements including, but not limited to, the following:

  • Intro to Offloading
  • Intro to Industrial Hygiene
  • Intro to cGMP
  • Powered Industrial Truck
  • Raw Material Handler S1 Written & OJT
  • Raw Material Handler S2 Written & OJT
