Responsibility / Authority
JOB REQUIREMENTSEquivalent Education Level Required: 4 year degree or 4-6 years equivalent job experience. Technical certifications desired.
Experience Required: 4-6 years of experience supporting production database systems. 2 years management or team leading experience desired.
Knowledge Required: Oracle 11g Enterprise Database including RAC, ASM, RMAN, OEM essential. System architecture and implementation required. PL/SQL development and tuning required. Exposure to OLTP, Warehouse design and ETL development needed.
Physical Requirements: minimal
Travel: No travel required.
Attire: Professional attire (as required by company standards).
- Oversee all aspects of database system design, implementation, troubleshooting, and administration.
- Manages and leads team to provide tier 2 and 3 support for all corporate database systems and services to meet or exceed service level agreements.
- Develops, installs, maintains and monitors company databases in a high performance/high availability environment while supporting enterprise projects.
- Database expertise to include support for application development; batch processing, reporting, security, warehouse and technical services.
- Ability to work in Oracle 11g RAC environments for Enterprise POS applications and Enterprise Warehouse supporting 2700 retail centers and corporate reporting.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Manage daily operations of tier 2 and 3 database support team responsible for all corporate database services.
- Coach, mentor, and develop technical team members.
- Propose new initiatives, develop plans, and lead projects to support business needs and improve efficiencies.
- Provide general database design, implementation, and administration to assure highest reliability and availability of IT services.
- Develop database scripts, code, and packages to support enterprise application development while utilizing and maintaining standards.
- Manage and oversee database architecture, service reliability, and perform root cause analysis of software, process and service failures.
- Monitor and administer all enterprise databases.
- Maintain database backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery database environment.
- Develop and support procedures for database security.
- Conduct database capacity planning, record archival, and performance tuning regularly.
- Implement and support database software upgrade and patch management procedures.
- Document database specifications, licensing, configuration, and infrastructure.
- Develop processes, procedures and guidelines for troubleshooting database events and performing sustaining tasks.
