The Supervisor of Charge Entry is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a team of charge associates. He/She is responsible for hiring, terminating, all disciplinary actions, and annual performance reviews for members of the team in conjunction with the Department Manager following United Health Group and Optum 360 policies. He/She is responsible for establishing and implementing development plans for each member of the team with a focus on skill enhancement and quality improvement. He/She is responsible for establishing/ monitoring/enforcing metrics and goals with each member of the team while measuring effectiveness and communicating results to the team and Department Manager with focus on continuous improvement. He/She works with Department Manager in evaluating processes with intent of improving productivity and quality. The Supervisor will spend 80 % of his/her time managing all aspects of the team and 20% of his/her time is used to perform/understand the specific tasks within the group with focus on improving the process.Primary Responsibilities:

Monitor attendance as it relates to previously established working hours, productivity and Optum 360 policy.
Oversee workflow of group assigning new accounts and leveling workloads.
Develop and cross train the team on productiuvity and qualiftvity and quality with a focus on all compliance related issues.
Develop/assign team lead as mentor/go to person
Establish consistency of process with each member of team  
Monitor new client activity and quality closely and work with team, Business Analyst, and training department to resolve any ongoing client training issues.
Oversee initial and ongoing training of employees as it relates to workflow, PM System, compliance, specialty knowledge, insurance carriers, etc.
Working with their team and department manager to facilitate/improve cross departmental relations and communications.

Requirements

Requirements:

High School Diploma/GED
5+ years of medical billing experience
Charge entry experience
Experience with software interfaces and EDI processes
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple responsibilities in complex environment
Working knowledge of physician reimbursement, medical terminology, ICD- 10, CPT and HCPCS coding
Assets:

Undergraduate or higher
