Machine Operator

MACHINE OPERATOR / Duluth, GA

Temp to Hire / $12.82 per hr.

SUMMARY OF JOB: Assist Supervisor in preparing equipment for production. Initiates product changeovers based on schedule. Is responsible for quality and quantity of product assuring production levels and overall efficiencies are met on a continual basis. Make daily repairs and adjustments to machinery. Completes all necessary paperwork.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Prepares equipment to 1 hour prior to shift start to run scheduled product.
Responsible for daily minor and major repairs as well as performing with the preventative maintenance team when necessary.
Must possess mechanical expertise to insure production levels and overall efficiencies on a continued basis.
Assists Packers and Quality Control in required paperwork.
Must log and maintain records on packaging and raw material loss.

QUALIFICATIONS: Must have general maintenance knowledge, have good judgement and initiative, and be able to learn in a timely manner.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Related maintenance experience a must. High school diploma or equivalency required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read and write English. Must be able to communicate effectively with fellow employees.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: 12th grade math.

REASONING ABILITY: Must be able to adequately perform job duties with little or no supervision. Good judgement and initiative a must.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: Maintenance certification courses desired.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Congested work area often with undesirable temperatures. Heavy lifting required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Must maintain strict safety procedures due to working with high-speed equipment.
