Position Summary:

Administer and properly record all leave of absence requests from the point of intake to closure. This includes making eligibility determinations based on company policies and in full compliance with state and federal regulations. Demonstrate the company’s core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Evaluate, analyze and investigate claims to determine eligibility and protocols are followed under legal, regulatory and company policy.
  • Provide total leave of absence claim management from the initial notice and intake to closure; administer in accordance with the company, as well as state and federal laws.
  • Communicate notice of employee rights, notice of deadlines and company leave policy guidelines to employees requesting leaves.
  • Evaluate, analyze and investigate Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) claims to determine eligibility and certifications are in compliance with state and federal regulations, and ensure that all workers compensation, medical and family leave standards and protocols are followed under legal, regulatory and company policy.
  • Assist employees through the disability claim filing process.
  • Maintain the request and receipt of medical certifications required during the leave of absence.
  • Monitor leaves for legal compliance issues, especially as available leave is exhausted.
  • Communicate decisions and on-going expectations with employees out on leave.
  • Manage leave of absence tracking, including intermittent family medical leave.
  • Communicate with manager regarding any legal issues.
  • Timely process terminations and pay for employees who exceed leave of absence entitlement.
  • Supervise and coach direct reports in the performance of their duties, complete performance reviews and provide feedback to direct reports.
  • Must be able perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
Minimum Position Qualifications/Education:
  • Certified occupational health professional or 5 years of relevant work experience
  • Leave administration, claims management experience
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong communication skills both oral and written
  • Proficiency in computer software
Desired Previous Job Experience/Education:
  • Supply Chain Operations experience
  • College degree preferred
