FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH IN OSCEOLA COUNTY JOB ANNOUNCEMENT *NOTE: DOH-Osceola is hiring RNs for multiple locations throughout Osceola County, both full-time and part-time. DESCRIPTION Provides professional nursing service in the care and treatment of patients within a public health setting and/or community health care center (CHCCO) or within a satellite service provision site. Complies with agency, program and Joint Commission or other accreditation standards in daily nursing duties. Works under the direct supervision of the Senior CHN or Nurse Supervisor in cooperation with the Director of Nursing and/or CHCC medical director. Applies nursing principles and techniques in the direct care and treatment of patients. Make assessments of and documents patient's health status. Assist providers in clinic sessions, maintain medical records, interpret and implement provider's orders/recommendations to patient, initiating patient care and follow up referrals as appropriate and accurately document all clinically pertinent information. Performs telephonic and walk-in triage as necessary. Assists with timely return calls to clients, providers, and pharmacies as appropriate. Helps to ensure appropriate and ongoing clinic flow. Issue medications/vaccines, take vital signs, obtain medical history, assists with maintaining inventory of medications, prepares drug orders, coordinates preparation of examination/treatment rooms and equipment. Assists with medical history taking, reviews abnormal findings with providers as appropriate and provides diagnosis-related counseling as appropriate. Monitors efficiency and safety of medical equipment, ex, EKG machine in center. Oversees immunization administration, tracking, input into HMS, and inventory. Provide nursing services to eligible patients per CHD Nursing Protocols. Assists with administration of birth control as necessary. Assists with completion of clinical logs, data entry for clinical reporting, referrals, triage, and other measures to ensure ongoing quality of care and compliance with standards and policy. Coordinates follow-up and/or case management of abnormal PAP and other lab or diagnostic results as appropriate. Performs venipuncture for specimen collection, performs simple lab procedures, assists with maintaining inventory of medical supplies. Assists with filing and other clinic operations wen required. Performs other clinic related duties as necessary and/or assigned.Ensures timely submission of time sheets and EARS information as appropriate. Provides nursing services as required during disasters. A current Florida Nursing License in accordance with Florida Statue 464 or eligible to practice nursing in accordance with Florida Administrative Code 210-8.22 or 8.27. A Valid Florida Driver's license and use of a private automobile is required. Other related duties as assigned.
