The Honeywell Automotive Software (HAS) Mechanical Design Engineer will work on the development of automotive electronics systems. A successful candidate will have experience in custom design and mechanical modeling of automotive electronic equipment, will be responsible for design, fabrication and assembly of complex mechanical devices from initial prototype to final product.

This position will report to the Hardware COE Leader and will be located in Atlanta, GA.

Essential Job Functions

* Perform complex mechanical design task.

* Work closely with local machine shop supporting fabrication and assembly of design

* Work closely with electronics PCB designers to ensure seamless integration of mechanical and electronic components in a single mechanical package

* Perform mechanical design and utilize CAD/CAM tools for prototype development and fabrication

* Perform thermal analysis of mechanical packages

* Follow defined hardware development process

You must have a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering plus 5 years of relevant work experience. You will also have 3 years of CAD design experience using Pro-E, thermal modeling experience, vibration testing experience, experience working with environmental simulation chambers and experience with injection molding, additive manufacturing technologies.
