And we do it all with every action focused on our shared values of Integrity, Compassion, Relationships, Innovation & Performance.The Pharmacy Technician is responsible for answering incoming calls/completing outbound calls to/from patients, physicians and pharmacists while ensuring a high level of customer service and maximizing productivity.Positions in this function perform various duties related to the fulfillment of prescription orders. Interprets physicians' prescriptions and creates order, accesses, inputs, and retrieves prescription information from computer system, verifies whether order is reimbursable. Dispenses any or all of the following: unit doses, specialty pharmaceuticals and injectibles; may compound medications. Consults with customers, patients and/or physicians regarding use of medications and potential drug interactions. Consultations may be telephonic or in person. Reviews and approves/denies requests for prescription prior authorizations. Pharmacists must have a current license without restrictions and Pharmacy Technicians must have current state license or national certification without restrictions based on regulatory requirements of worksite.Primary Responsibilities:


Entering prescriptions and verifying appropriate information
Contacting patients, pharmacists and doctor's offices to resolve claims issues
Processing prescriptions (from intake to order completion)
Resolving customer issues; ensuring accurate information is provided
Constantly meet established productivity, schedule adherence, and quality standards while maintaining a good attendance record
Other tasks as assigned
Moderate work experience within own function
Some work is completed without established procedures
Basic tasks are completed without review by others
Supervision/guidance is required for higher level tasks

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

High School Diploma or GED
3+ years of pharmacy technician experience
Familiarity with computers and Windows PC applications (this includes the ability to learn new and complex computer system applications)
Basic knowledge of drug terminology, pharmaceutical calculations, and drug use
Available to work 10:00 am - 6:00 pm Monday through FridayPreferred Qualifications:

National pharmacy technician certification or Pharmacy Technician license in the state of New YorkSoft Skills:

Good communication and problem solving skills - will be using the phone to communicate with patients and physicians offices
Must be an independent thinking
Strong organization skills
Time management - able to meet daily deadlinesPhysical Requirements and Work Environment:

Frequent speaking, listening using a headset, sitting, use of hands/fingers across keyboard or mouse, handling other objects, long periods of close vision looking at a computer monitor
Service center environment with moderate noise level due to Representatives talking, computers, printers, floor activity
