And, when you contribute, you'll open doors for yourself that simply do not exist in any other organization, anywhere. Responsible for intake of initial patient referrals, insurance benefits verification and coordination of new admissions with nursing and pharmacy staff. Benefit Coordinators are also responsible for preparing and managing paperwork and documentation for billing and collections.Primary Responsibilities:Obtain prior authorization or pre-certification of services to be rendered as required by each individual payorAnswer incoming telephone calls and triage to appropriate personnel as indicatedComplete and manage all paperwork or supportive documentation required for performing effective billingRe-verify patient eligibility, monitor insurance lifetime caps and prior authorization periodsResolve patient / payor issues in a timely mannerWork with Managed Care to identify contracting opportunitiesParticipate in Departmental, Clinical and Company meetings as requestedDemonstrates interpersonal skills among co-workers, internal departments, and referral sourcesParticipate in required Quality Improvement Program including, but not limited to in-services and educational programsFollow Current Referral Intake Process FlowMay assist with training of other team members, as neededAny other duties as assigned

Requirements

Required Qualifications:HS Diploma/GED1+ year of experience working in an office setting using the telephone and computer as the primary instruments to perform job dutiesExperience using a computer and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)            Prior authorization knowledge/experienceAbility to maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA requirementsComfortable working Monday-Friday from 8am-5pm with possible OT and Saturdays as neededPreferred Qualifications:Home infusion, DME, or Pharmacy experienceIntake / Insurance experience Experience with Medicaid and MedicareMedical billing or coding experience Careers with AxelaCare. Discover a health services career that encourages your professional growth while delivering steadfast commitment to exceptional patient care.
