We have full-time openings for Retail Supervisors for our upcoming Buena Park location. Must be able to work various shifts per week, and have at least 2-3-years of Supervisor experience to be considered.

Job Summary:

A Bakery & Café Supervisor oversees the Bakery & Café when the Manager is not available.  Customer Service and food quality is top priority.  A Bakery & Café Supervisor ensures that the sales associates are focused in order to keep the wait time to a minimum.  Excellent customer service, communication and active listening skills are required.  Must be able to prioritize and meet company goals.  A Bakery & Café Supervisor must also set excellent standards, be detail-oriented, have in-depth knowledge of all menu and price items and must be able to interact with customers, subordinates, and all levels of management in a positive and effective manner.

Essential Job Functions:

A.M Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Operational issues in need of resolution such as customer refund and/or returns.
  • Handle employee issues in relation to attendance to ensure adequate coverage of all shifts.
  • Create employee shift list and position chart for the day.
  • Complete opening walk through.
  • Oversee the administering of employee rest and meal breaks
  • Maintain all display cases full of pastries and eye appealing.

P.M Duties and Responsibilities: (Along with A.M. duties)

  • Create shift list for afternoon employees.
  • Complete PM walk through.
  • Make “last call” announcement for closing orders. Assure that all customer needs are met before closing of registers.
  • Ensure that all counter tops and showcases are cleaned and sanitized.
  • Confirm that all restocking and register stations are completed for next business day.
  • Observe and evaluate workers and work procedures in order to ensure quality standards and service.
  • Create employee schedules on a weekly basis.
  • Assist managers with interviews and with completing and conducting Performance Appraisals.
  • Recommend to immediate Manager, measures for improving work procedures and work performance in order to increase service quality and enhance job safety.
  • Resolve customer complaints, such as food service returns and replacements. 
  • Responsible for Safety of employees while on premises. 
  • Train workers in providing excellent customer service, along with proper sanitation and safety procedures.
  • Perform line staff job functions as needed when emergency or high volume situations arise.
  • Have in-depth menu knowledge and must be able to answer all guest questions with accuracy and tact.
  • Assure implementation of “Five Steps to Excellent Service”.
  • Ability to work in fast paced, high volume environment.  Ability to multi-task and prioritize.
  • Have excellent communication and active listening skills. 
  • Be self-motivated and demonstrate initiative and leadership skills.
  • Be a team-player, assisting co-workers whenever needed.
  • Have excellent time-management skills.
  • Present a professional neat image and abide by company dress code.  Uniforms must be clean and wrinkle free.
  • Abide by availability schedule.  Be flexible in work habits and work schedule as hours will vary.
  • And other duties as assigned.

Sanitation and Safety:

  • Instruct all team members to clean up spills or debris immediately as they are top priority.
  • Strive to maintain a safe and clean environment in all areas of operation especially public areas.
  • Contribute to maintaining a consistent “A” grading from the health department throughout the year.   

Physical Demands of the Job:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and fingers, to handle, feel or take hold of objects, and to talk or hear. The employee is required to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, & stoop, kneel or bend. The employee may be required to lift up to 20 lbs.
