Job Description

The Sterling Restaurant Supply Store Manager is responsible for store operations, inventory management, and maximizing store business results by consistently creating exceptional customer experiences. The Manager will establish and maintain an environment to support and strengthen our brand image by modeling our corporate entrepreneurial values; loyalty, integrity, leadership, innovation. He/she is responsible for creating a culture focused on the differentiated customer experience through building a best in class team and delivering profitable sales and margin.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES


OPERATIONS
• Responsible for all day-to-day operational requirements to include hours of operation, merchandising, signage, inventory management, ordering, receiving, overseeing daily store cleaning and recovery.
• Develops strong business relationships with new and existing customers by maintaining timely, open communication with and by quickly and effectively resolving problems.
• Accountable for flawless execution of operational excellence, driving profitable sales and margin and improving performance YoY.
• Reviews financial and operational reports and takes necessary actions based on report results.
• Responsible for ensuring proper store staffing coverage based on current and future store activity.
• Accountable for individual development and retention of store personnel, providing training and reinforcing exceptional sales and service results.
• Keeps informed of new products, services and other general information of interest to sales representatives and customers.
• Responsible for answering telephone calls, and email inquiries and promoting products and services.

SALES
• Champions a consultative and customer centric environment. Coaches store personnel to create a culture of consultative selling and total solutions while focused on the customers’ needs.
• Generates new business in the store through actively engaging with walk-in customers, at events, and through social media.
• Monitors and ensures Web sales are meeting monthly targets.
• Works directly with customers to build relationships to ensure a high level of customer retention and satisfaction.
• Actively engaged in the success of commercial sales events.
• Works with local sponsorship opportunities to enhance business development opportunities.

INVENTORY MANAGEMENT
• Works with Supply Chain and SRS team to determine new product selections for the store.
• Works with Supply Chain, Product Development and SRS team to determine correct product assortment and pricing strategy as it relates to store activity.
• Works with Supply Chain and manages SRS Operations associates to maintain accurate inventory counts to include on hand, breakage, and shrinkage and identify cause as appropriate.
• Works with Supply Chain in inventory planning to ensure that inventory levels are consistent with marketing and financial objectives.

MARKETING
• Partners with Marketing team to promote events and sales.
• Participates in and contributes with development of marketing strategy for the store.
• Entirely responsible for execution of consumer and special sales events.
• Responsible for requesting, maintaining, and organizing all store-related marketing materials.
• Responsible for store monthly and yearly plan-o-grams relating to merchandising and marketing promotions.

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
• Oversees daily register reconciliation.
• Supports Finance in preparation of monthly financials.
• Manages store budget and forecasts in collaboration with VP Restaurants & Distribution.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years management experience in retail environment as a Department Manager, Store Manager, or General Manager.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience desired.
• Background in P&L, inventory control, merchandising, cash control, inside sales, customer service.
• Exceptional interpersonal communication and leadership skills.
