Financial Reporting Analyst - Full-time

A successful Financial Reporting Analyst of Internal Reporting will have the following: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or related field of study and 3+ years Accounting experience including month end / year end close and Financial Statement preparation; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Thorough understanding of key accounting concepts and GAAP
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, etc.)
• Solid understanding of Hyperion Financial Reporting, Smart View, Oracle Financial Systems, and Essbase
• Ability to assess and recommend improvements for processes and procedures                                                     
• Willing to learn new concepts and work with teammates to find solutions

The Financial Reporting Analyst position is part of the Internal Reporting Group within the Dish Accounting Department.  The Internal Reporting Group actively participates in preparing Dish’s financial statements and provides end user support for our financial systems.  This role is responsible for performing month end close processes, maintaining various accounting systems, developing/maintaining reports, and providing end user training.

Primary responsibilities will fall into the following categories:

• Participates in the monthly close process to include preparing journal entries, reconciliations, and account analysis
• Assists in verifying the accuracy of the Exec Book, 10-K's, 10-Q's and various financial statements
• Responsible for preparing and automating various components included in the monthly Financial Reports
• Provides end user support on a daily basis to Accounting, Finance and operational departments including resolving system access, connection issues, software configuration issues, and reporting issues
• Develops and maintains various financial and managerial reports (Balance Sheet, P&L, SAC, etc.)
• Designs, builds and implements Essbase cubes. Maintains the structure and data elements of the General Ledger Essbase database
