A successful Content Acquisition Lead will have the following:
- 3-5 years of work experience in the media/entertainment/OTT space
- Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; JD and/or MBA strongly preferred and/or combination of relevant work experience
- Previous negotiating and deal experience a plus; ability to draft term sheets and provide appropriate feedback to legal teams on long-form agreements
- Ability to communicate effectively to interact with C-level executives and outside parties
- Strong quantitative and model-building skills
- Familiarity with traditional and digital media technology a plus
The Content Acquisition Lead is responsible for sourcing, evaluating, negotiating, and finalizing deals with content providers and other programming partners. Time management, critical reading, and effective communication will be essential skills for success in this role. Position will also assist in setting the short- and long-term strategy for Sling TV programming.
Job Duties and Responsibilites
Primary responsibilities fall into the following categories:
- Sourcing and evaluating content and distribution opportunities
- Negotiating key content agreements and conracts and reviewing important legal documents
- Developing innovative business ideas and effectively communicating strategy to senior management through concise presentations and memos
- Relationship management with existing media partners
- Working with outside departments and project team members to develop timelines for project management
