Job Overview:

The Senior POS Systems Analyst is responsible for working with business users to understand and document the business requirements for new functionality and translate business requirements into business specifications. They will be responsible for reviewing all of our business specifications with the Macy’s Technology department. The Senior POS Systems Analyst will also be responsible for reviewing the Macy’s Division proposed new functionality and use cases to ensure that their requested functionality will support our corporate vision. In addition, the Senior POS Systems Analyst job function will include creation/execution of all test plans required for the new functionality and communication of all new functionality to our Senior Management Team. Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions:

• Understand business requirements for proposed new system functionality.

• Develop, submit and review with Macy’s Technology department all business specifications for new system functionality along with business use cases.

• Review/approve Macy’s Technology department POS requirement documents and technical design specifications.

• Research and analyze new and emerging technologies to POS systems and how they could benefit Bloomingdales.

• Manage/coordinate enhancement requirement deliverables between Macy’s Technology department, Macys and Bloomingdales.

• Work with business users/cross functional teams to develop and execute test plans for new enhancements/functionality.

• Provide end user support. Resolve day to day user reported issues. Investigate and provide resolution to resolve reported system bugs.

• Manage communications of new functionality/enhancements to be shared with the Central Executive management team.

• Provide guidance to the Leased Operations team on how to process transactions needed to support the various Leased Operations in our stores.

• Will assist with the preparation and setup for new store openings.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:
• 4 year college degree, preferably a major in business administration with minor in computer science/information systems.
• 5 years or more experience and mastery in Point of Sale (POS). Loyalty (CRM) and Credit systems, knowledge of mobile technology a plus.
• Experience leading collaborative decision making working sessions.

Communication Skills:
• Ability to read, write, and interpret documents.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Mathematical Skills:
• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, division and analytical skills.

Reasoning Ability:
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to balance competing priorities. Strong follow–up skills and sense of urgency.

Physical Demands:
• This position involves regular walking, standing, sitting, hearing, and talking. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching.
• May involve close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment. Involves use of hands and fingers for typing on keyboard and using a mouse. May be a need to move or lift items under 10 pounds.

Work Hours:
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.
