In
this role, you will be involved in developing innovative business solutions by
creating new applications, modifying existing applications and providing post
production support. Predominantly you will be designing, coding, testing,
debugging, documenting and supporting all types of applications consistent with
established specifications and business requirements to deliver value to our
organization.

 

Positions
in this function are predominantly involved in developing business solutions by
creating new and modifying existing software applications. Primary contributor
in designing, coding, testing, debugging, documenting and supporting all types
of applications consistent with established specifications and business
requirements to deliver business value. Employees in jobs labeled with SCA must
support a government Service Contract Act (SCA) agreement.
 
Primary Responsibilities: Design, implement and maintain Java applications within all phases of
the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)Experience working in databasesDevelop, test, implement and maintain application software working with
established processesCommunicate effectively with other engineers and QAEstablish, refine and integrate development and test environment tools
and software as needed Identify production and non-production application issues Identify opportunities to fine-tune and optimize applications of Java
developed projectsProvide technical support and consultation for Java application and
infrastructure questionsServe as a mentor to less experienced developersSolid organizational skills and focus on accuracy and attention to
detailExcellent analytical, problem solving and troubleshooting abilitiesSelf-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environmentProviding accurate and timely estimates for tasksProvide support and leadership in critical production support issue
resolutionSupport the team for application availability, reliability and stability
on a 7 by 24 by 365 basisConduct or facilitate root cause analysis on all in-scope incidents and
recommend a corrective action planWork with team to achieve timely resolution of all production issues
meeting or exceeding Service Level AgreementsConduct peer code reviews to ensure the work delivered by the team is of
high quality standardsWork with business to prioritize production issue resolutionWork with the Service Manager in process improvement initiatives as
directed by the service

Requirements:Bachelor's
Degree (or higher) or High School Diploma/GED with 2+ years of technical experience5+ years of development experience building multi-tier
applications using JavaExperience with Agile methodologyUnderstanding of industry patterns for application
architecture and integration3+ years SQL experienceExperience with Design efficient / effective solutions using OOP
patterns
