Headway Workforce Solutions is currently seeking an Electrical Coordinator for a 14 month contract opportunity in Lusby, MD with our partner, one of the nation's largest producers and transporters of energy.

PROJECT SUMMARY:

The project objective is to convert an existing LNG impart terminal into a bidirectional facility.  Major activities will consist of installing equipment associated with the pretreatment and liquefaction of natural gas.  All work is located in Cove Point, MD. Site construction is approximately 65% complete and work is expected to continue into the first quarter of 2018.

The Electrical Coordinator will report to the Owner's Segment Construction Manager and be responsible for interfacing with the Main EPC Contractor, IHI/Kiewit, as well as others to ensure that the Owner’s interests are maintained during construction, start-up and turn-over from the Contractor's to the Owner's responsibility.  Must specialize in on-site construction management and the individual will need a proven track record of executing complex projects and have a strong working knowledge of constructability, construction execution planning, contractor/subcontractor management, quality assurance, site safety, security and code compliance.  The individual should have a working knowledge of the systems, equipment, construction and turn-over requirements specific for a liquefied natural gas facility.  They will need to develop a proactive working relationship with the other organizations involved in the project.

Essential Functions:

  • Self starter that operates under minimum supervision, performing duties independently with only general direction given.  Effective at team building. Maintain positive and proactive relations with managers and employees, as well as our contractors and regulatory agencies.
  • Must be knowledgeable of OSHA standards and site safety procedures, as well as project environmental compliance requirements. Report/discuss project on a routine basis with the Segment Manager
  • Must be knowledgeable and capable of interpreting work packages, project contracts and documentation requirements, construction turn-over plans and other typical project documentation.
  • Interface with the Contractors representative (s) during the delivery, erection, checkout and startup of the components required for the project.
  • Actively manage the review of system turnover packages, system walk downs and punch list development.
  • Monitor and inspect the installation, testing, checkout and startup of the assigned area.
  • Reliable, dependable, and predictable attendance is required.  Weekend shifts (rotating) and potential for night shifts.
  • Must understand and implement Dominion scheduling/planning and equipment systems

Knowledge, Skill, and Abilities:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Previous work on Dominion projects is a plus.
  • Knowledgeable in the construction field for large capital projects with experience with FERC regulated facilities highly desirable.
  • Pass pre-employment drug screening test.
  • 10-15 years experience in construction management practices
  • Must have experience in Turnover and Commission
  • Must have 10-15 years I&C experience
  • Strong understanding of the LNG liquefaction process
  • Thorough understanding of national electrical code (NEC and 70E)
  • Thorough understanding of lock-out/tag-out requirements
  • Thorough understanding of Switchgear/MCC’s, DCS, Instrumentation, cable tray, conduit, cable pull/termination and equipment installations.
  • Thorough understanding of voltages ranging from 125VDC and 120VAC thru 25KV.
  • Experience with Union Labor
  • Able to obtain a Federal Transportation worker Identification Card (TWIC)
  • Working knowledge of MS office suite applications
  • Must have the ability to frequently climb ladders and stairs, use fall protection devices, work outside (in the heat, cold and rain), work in hazardous conditions typical of those found in industrial construction sites (including confined spaces) and use protective clothing when required.

Additional Information

  • 14+ month contract
  • Work days can be 7 days, with total hours alternating between 50 hours and 60 hours per week (typically).
  • Candidates may be assigned to night shift at any time during employment.
