We are looking an experienced, hands-on individual to assist the Building Services manager with providing facilities services and oversight for our store.

The ideal assistant Building Services manager is committed to providing our customers and employees with a safe, comfortable, clean and well maintained environment. If you are interested in the opportunity to support a team, we want to help you get there.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in teaching and coaching employees to provide the store with the best service possible
  • Assist the Building Services manager in overseeing the in-house facilities program, consisting of maintenance and housekeeping services
  • Handle floor, wall and ceiling repairs, as well as painting/refinishing and all housekeeping tasks
  • Perform maintenance and/or minor repairs to HVAC system, plumbing system, electrical fixtures, other building systems and equipment
  • Help the Building Services manager ensure the successful completion of scheduled work orders for building and systems
  • Work with the Building Services manager in conducting daily store inspection, walk through and correctives
  • Collaborate with the Building Services manager and other partners to ensure established processes and practices are followed
  • Provide general support to the store, for example, set up special events, organize backrooms and relocate store fixtures


Qualifications

Qualifications
  • Have a high school diploma, or equivalent (preferred)
  • Proven success in current role
  • Positive evaluation on recent performance reviews
  • Experience in the building trades
  • Experience operating maintenance equipment, such as hand and power tools and Facilities maintenance related equipment
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain productive relationships with store partners
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Strong organizational, delegation and follow-through skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • High level of ownership, accountability and initiative
