Intermodal Specialist in Smyrna, GA at Floor and Decor

Purpose

The drayage Specialist ensures all shipments into Floor and Decor Distribution Centers and Stores are handled quickly, safely, and within budgeted constraints. This position will coordinate with outside companies that provide freight services, customs handling, freight forwarding, international vendors, and domestic warehousing.

Essential Functions

• Facilitate the movement and coordination of shipments with carriers, stores and distribution centers.
• Establish and coordinate schedules to ensure on time deliveries.
• Track and trace and trouble shoot shipments on demand using F&D TMS and carrier systems.
• Communicate with carriers regarding daily operations, issue resolution, performance, shipment tracking, etc.
• Provide data for inputs to carrier scorecards.
• Verify carriers are filing proper documentation to clear international containers.
• Process accessorial invoices in F&D TMS in a timely manner.
• Mitigate transit lead time and intermodal dwell time by monitoring carrier’s scheduled appointments and store unload times.

This is a new position where the primary functions of the role will continue to develop and change over time.

Minimum Eligibility Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (relevant experience can be substituted for the required education on the basis of one calendar year of experience for one academic year of education)
• Two years of relevant experience required or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job, as determined by the company
• Proven problem-solving and team building skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite
• Working knowledge of Supply Chain industry and functions
• Must be detail oriented and organized
• Must possess excellent customer service skills and work well under pressure
• Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment
• Must pass pre-employment background check
