Job Summary: Supervise work activities of Room Attendants, Housepersons, and Inspectors to ensure clean & orderly rooms, and that work meets the Vail Resorts and the Housekeeping department standards and regulations.  Assign duties, inspect work, and investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service and equipment.  This role can take an active role in purchasing housekeeping supplies and equipment, take periodic inventories, screen applicants, train new employees.

Responsibilities Include, but are not limited to:                               

  • Investigate complaints regarding housekeeping service from guests and owners, and take corrective action as necessary.
  • In the morning / evening, obtain list of rooms to be cleaned / Arrivals and list of prospective check-outs; take part in preparing work assignments.
  • Coordinate work activities and projects within the Department, and among other departments.
  • Attend and conduct Department orientation, meetings, and service training to explain policies, work procedures, and to demonstrate use and maintenance of equipment and safety policies.
  • Take active role in inventories stock to ensure employees and hotel have adequate supplies.
  • Make recommendations to improve service and ensure more efficient operation.
  • Recommend and participate in disciplinary action procedures.
  • Perform cleaning duties in case of emergency or staff shortage.
  • Inspect and report maintenance repair or replacement items in rooms, hallways and public areas.
  • Attend staff meetings to discuss and learn of Vail Resorts policies and work procedures.
  • Ensure adequate supplies are on Room Attendant carts, in all Housekeeping closets, and the main Housekeeping supply areas.
  • Train new Room Attendants and Inspectors; provide ongoing training for both positions as necessary.  
  • Solve and follow up on any guest / owner complaints and ensure guest / owner satisfaction.
  • Ensure that all Housekeeping employees are performing their duties in safe surroundings and that they practice all safety procedures according to the work safety procedures and regulations of the Housekeeping department and Vail Resorts.  

Qualifications:

  • At least 1 year Housekeeping supervisory experience – required.  
  • Strong computer skills and experience – preferred.
  • Presentable, well-groomed with strong leadership experience – required.
  • Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and self-motivated – required.
  • Able to work under pressure and independently – required.
  • A meticulous attention to details – required.
  • Able to work irregular hours including holidays and weekends as required.
  • Speak, read, and wright English – required; Bilingual – preferred.
  • Able to stand, walk, balance, bend, stoop, push, pull, and kneel frequently – required.
  • Previous Vail Resorts experience – preferred.
