A midsize teaching hospital in Southern New Hampshire is currently looking for a proven Health Information Management Director to lead the HIM and Coding Departments.

This 250+ bed hospital is known both locally and nationally for clinical excellence. They are part of a large, stable system that puts patients first, as evidenced by their recent recognition by The National Research Corporation (NRC), awarding them with the Consumer Choice Award. They also received commendation from Press Ganey for Increasing Patient Satisfaction. This hospital has a fabulous reputation in the community for employee satisfaction.

The Director of HIM will report to a VP of Finance and Revenue Cycle and be responsible for all aspects of Health Information Management Department enterprise-wide, including coding, patient privacy, medical records, EHR management, clinical documentation improvement and provider support, guaranteeing integrity of revenue cycle and ensuring compliance with all accrediting and regulatory bodies.

Within this scope of responsibilities, the Director of HIM will develop and implement strategic plans, provide guidance and expertise to departments and leadership and mentor and supervise staff within the department. The Coding Compliance and Medical Records Senior Director should have a wide range of skills, including budget development, supervision, project management, management proficiency, process improvement, tracking and managing expenses and demonstrated experience translating ideas to successful project completion.

The Health Information Management Director will assess the overall efficacy of the department to discover opportunities for performance improvement.

Providing leadership, vision and direction to the multiple departments, this Director of Medical Records is an important leadership role in the hospital. This position will lead a large team in multiple departments, including manager direct reports. The ideal candidate will have experience and success in supervising and coaching staff in order to achieve results, as well as maintain high retention. Budgetary oversight, working with outside vendors and contractors and strategic planning are also important aspects of this highly visible and key position.

Located in Southern New Hampshire, this an ideal place to call home. It is within a short drive to the large cities of Boston and Manchester, as well as some more remote and scenic sites such as lakes and mountains for outdoor activities.
