These positions are responsible for the supervision of all employees and the day to day operations of a retail location that processes donations. A store managers priorities include but are not limited to the following:

Financial:

  • Generating revenue
  • Maintaining the appropriate ratios of expense, revenue and salaries
  • Meeting budget numbers
  • Maintaining appropriate security of cash and keys

Personnel:

  • Managing personnel in the daily completion of job duties
  • Development of management staff to ensure succession
  • Ensuring compliance to policies and procedures
  • Ensuring appropriate staffing levels in all areas of store operation

Production:

  • Managing the process to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Meeting production numbers as set by divisional management
  • Ensuring loss prevention and process flow guidelines are followed

Safety:

  • Ensure all staff is properly trained on safety expectations and procedures
  • Oversee the physical safety of the back room and sales floor
  • Ensure communication of safety issues and concerns to ensure quick resolution

The Store Manager must be able to display the following:

  • Set priorities to meet daily, weekly and monthly goals
  • Manage the personnel process for the store: hiring, discipline, development and termination
  • Communicate with support departments and division management regularly to ensure goals are met
  • Ensure compliance to policies and procedures designed to protect personnel, donated goods and cash
  • Handle day-to-day management decisions with confidence, good judgment and minimal intervention
  • Ensure a positive customer experience at both sales floor and donation door.
  • Demonstrate commitment to the mission of the organization
  • Complete any special projects delegated by divisional management

These positions require someone who has more than one year of experience in supervision, preferably in a retail environment. A high school diploma or equivalent is required and a college education is preferred. Previous cash handling experience is required. Must be able to pass credit and Motor vehicle records checks and pass a drug screen.
