Direct Support Professionals - Full-time / Part-time

This position is responsible for the direct support of Individual(s) residing in their home or out in the community. DSP's are responsible for ensuring the health and safety of supported individuals; responsible for implementation of daily activities such as listed below; but not limited to:

 Medication administration of prescribed and over the counter medications with doctor order only, transportation to and from doctor appointments, emergency centers or hospitals as need arises. Utilize and support any medical devices or means of communication devices.

Hygiene, providing verbal and physical support to ensuring individuals are showering(bathing), brushing their teeth, combing their hair, cleanly dressed (free from soiled clothing) and appropriate for the weather.

Domestic cleaning providing verbal and physical support ensuring the home is clean and free from safety hazards. i.e. cleaning supplies are away from cooking material.  

Cooking providing verbal and physical support ensuring proper nutrition and balanced meals at least three per day.

Food is not outdated and stored properly in sealed containers.

Financial management; support with shopping, bill paying and developing a monthly budget.

Implementation of the Individual's Person Center Plan, Individual Support Plan and Behavioral Support Plan.This position is responsible for implementing goals and objectives in a natural setting such as the home or the community.Employees of this position are expected to participate in Individual Support Team meetings and actively provide information about an individual's progress and the barriers to progress. To effectively communicate and creatively collaborate with other team members.

Transportation to and from day programing, community activities, shopping, etc.

Conduct monthly evacuation drills set forth but the agency's monthly schedule, per shift.

Effective and timely, documentation of all duties as listed here in this position description.

Accurately record all days and time of work and to comply with all record keeping policies.

Adhere and follow all Kindred Consulting policies and procedures.
