Providence is calling an on call Electrophysiology Technologist to Providence Alaska Medical Center in Anchorage, AK.

The Electrophysiology Technologist will assist cardiovascular Physicians in performing and completing invasive diagnostic therapeutic cardiovascular procedures in Labs using a variety of complicated/advanced equipment, monitors, devices and supplies.

In this position you will:

* Responsible for patient care in electrophysiology labs.

* Responsible pre-operative preparations.

* Responsible for obtaining patient status reports from Nursing Units, SP Documentation Sheet information, Permit, lad studies, Physician orders, IV site, pre-op medications, allergies, contrast history/information/teaching, vital signs.

* Maintain communication with family and/or significant others before, during and after procedure.

* Assist in troubleshooting and minor equipment repair in Labs.

* Participate in the Quality Improvement Program and be knowledgeable in its components and results that affect patient care and quality control issues.

Required qualifications for this position include:

* Knowledge base of Hospital radiology techniques, theory, and procedures

* Knowledge of anatomy and physiology, invasive cardiovascular. practices/techniques/pressures, basic EKG analysis and emergency protocols/BLS.

* Ability to deal tactfully and compassionately with patients/families/significant others under potentially stressful conditions.

Preferred qualifications for this position include:

* Graduate from an accredited school with supervised clinical experience in invasive electrophysiological procedures.

* New graduates must complete registry within one (1) year of hire.

* Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six (6) months of hire.

* Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within six (6) months of hire.

* American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).

* .Previous Special Procedures/Cath Lab Cardiovascular Technician experience.
