JOB DESCRIPTION: Directs all aspects of Third Party follow-up with assigned payors utilizing IDX, DCM and ClaimLogic systems. Ensures proper training and adherence to policies, procedures, processes, and work quality. Responsible for backlog management, and proper controls are in place resulting in maximized efficiency and reimbursement; effective in planning and implementing processes, staff development, standardization, and measures to ensure positive results. Responsible for processing of all credit card transactions received via Lockbox and internally. Prepares, balances and posts utilizing I. Recon Front Desk Tool. Reviews, researches and resolves I.Covert zero pay no rejection work file. Monitors and identifies potential problem areas in the accounts receivables utilizing existing reports. Analyzes and notes charges, payments and accounts receivable trends for allocated payors and internal customers. Identifies billing and processing problems and communicates with Manager and/or upper management on resolution. Provides support in all areas involving accounts to meet expectations of The Emory Clinic, Inc.Supervises staff and employee performance. Resolves Human resource-related issues, determines staffing needs, interviews and hires staff. Assists in setting of staff performance goals. Provides on-going performance feedback, addresses problems, orients and trains employees, verifies and documents competency and identifies and suggests ways to develop skills. Recommends disciplinary, termination and salary actions. Plans, assigns and directs work. Monitors workflow. Seeks assistance from Human Resources as needed. Participates in developing, implementing and revising departmental policies and procedures. Meets with other staff members to discuss progress and to develop future courses of action; tracks performance to goals. Identifies and responds to employee issues in a professional and timely manner. Communicates with insurance companies, outside vendors, other department managers, section employees and all PFS employees to resolve issues and provide information on procedure or regulation changes.Inspires confidence, teamwork, enthusiasm, and respect from related staff, and sections through professional leadership, project planning, and timely resolution of issues. Sets goals, provides reliable decision-making, consistency, and professional communication respective of Emory Healthcare. Accepts ownership and accountability for all Third Party follow-up functions. Motivates staff in sharing ideas, process improvements, and developing proactive solutions. Effective in controlling expenses and maximum efficiency of resources.Ensures manual payments, contractuals and denials are entered accurately into the system. Collects, organizes, and analyzes data and generates and provides accurate and complete reports for management and/or regulatory agencies. Prepares periodic reports as required. Works special assigned projects.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma or equivalent required. College degree (BA, BS) preferred but not required. Minimum three years related work experience, preferably with supervision of insurance/third party follow-up in a Clinic or Hospital Business Office environment.
