Shutters on the Banks is immediately seeking a full time Front Desk Supervisor.

JOB SUMMARY:

  • Assists in scheduling and training guest service staff, problem solving, and improved efficiency.
  • Supervises day-to-day operations, guest relations, and front office activities.
  • Acts as Manager on Duty in absence of Front Office Manager.
  • Assists Front Desk Manager with daily operating procedures, record keeping, reporting, invoicing, and follow up with guests, and staff.
  • Assists in the management of on-line reservations including follow-up on bookings, resolving problems, performing data analysis and updating the on-line booking engine rates and packages.
  • Performs special projects, such as reservation occupancy and ADR, studies, to support rate analysis decisions.
  • Performs duties of Front Desk, Reservations, Night Audit or Breakfast Attendant when needed.

Skills Needed:

  • Good listening skills are needed to facilitate problem solving.
  • Ability to interact effectively directly and by telephone with staff and guests of diverse ages, backgrounds, and interests.
  • Strong organizational skills needed along with patience in dealing with a diverse customer base.
  • Must have excellent communications and guest-service skills and be capable of handling effectively difficult guests and resolving guest complaints.
  • Strong memory retention skills needed along with time management.
  • Decision making skills related to guest problems or needs must be made quickly and effectively based on a thorough knowledge of rates, accommodations, facilities, and guidelines. Must be responsible and able to react quickly and effectively.
  • Flexibility to adjust to a dynamic work environment in handling requests in a courteous, friendly, and efficient manner.
  • Indirect supervision of one (1) to ten (10) Front Office employees during shift operations.
  • Must have the desire and ability to work Nights and Weekend.
  • Must have lodging experience.
