Metro Manager DESCRIPTION: The Metro Manager manages the overall performance of the assigned Metro market including the individual performance of the centers within his/her oversight. The role of the Metro manager is to develop synergies with the centers in their control to better serve and grow a particular market. The Metro Manager obtains annual/monthly sales and production objectives to insure a positive EBIT, protects all Goodyear assets within area of responsibility, to include but not limited to inventory, accounts receivable, trucks, and equipment with the ultimate goal of reducing operating costs, and manages safety, health and environmental processes. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: * By establishing realistic goals and objectives the Metro manager will be able to manage the profitability of the Metro market and exceed their EBIT objective. The metro manager will lead the development of those goals and objectives. * The development of all associates will be a major job function of the Metro manager. All associates will be properly trained in the aspects of their jobs and it will be the Metro Manager who will work with Region management to facilitate the assets of the company towards the accomplishment of this task. * Keep management apprised of all competitive products, practices, and distribution. * Will identify all customers by salesperson to eliminate duplicate associate calls. All potential customers will be identified and a sales person will be assigned responsibility of developing that customers business. The Metro manager will co-ordinate customers with the region to gain maximum utilization of both companies associates and avoid duplications of work. * Manage all safety, health and environmental processes by ensuring morning safety huddles are conducted, leading by safety first, and reporting and sending all required paperwork for any injuries and accidents to management. REQUIREMENTS: * Associate's Degree or equivalent experience with a verifiable history of applicable industry related accomplishments (Bachelor's Degree in Business or Organizational Management or related field preferred). * 3+ years of successful management of multi-million dollar businesses. * Sales and management with positive P & L experience and demonstrated leadership skills. * Previous experience in an environment that required rapid response to a variety of business issues. * Multi-shift experience. * Knowledge of tire manufacturing, manufacturing process systems and retread tire manufacturing. * Mechanical aptitude. * Commercial Tire sales or service experience. * Ability to identify problem areas and develop corrective actions. * Ability to train, develop, motivate and lead groups of individuals to a common goal;. * Ability to delegate responsibilities. * Ability to make prompt decisions based on facts. * Ability to focus on objectives and goals rather than obstacles and barriers. * Able to work on multiple projects at the same time, assess the workload and prioritize the work for maximum business benefit. * Unwilling to compromise personal integrity or business ethics. * Good oral and written communication ability. * Basic tire and mechanical skills. * Lead in a team environment. * Good computer skills including excel, word, power point.
