  A McKean, PA Manufacturer seeking Mold Setters

  • Pay: $10.50 12.50/hour
  • Second and Third Shifts: Second:  3 pm 11:25 pm; Third:  11:00 pm 7:25 am
  • 5 days per week Monday thru Friday

Responsibilities Include:

         Safely set tool into plastic injection molding machine and have ready to produce parts

         Measure and visually inspect products for surface and dimension defects to ensure conformance to specifications, using precision measuring instruments

         Observe continuous operation of automatic machines to ensure that products meet specifications and to detect jams or malfunctions, making adjustments as necessary

         Set up, operate, or tend injection plastic molding machines to mold plastic parts or products, perform samplings and start-ups

         Turn valves and dials of machines to regulate pressure, temperature, and speed and feed rates, and to set cycle times.

         Read specifications, blueprints, and work orders to determine setups, temperatures, and time settings required to mold, form, or cast plastic materials, as well as to plan production sequences

         Perform equipment maintenance and basic repairs as well as troubleshooting in order to assure quality products

Requirements include:

         5 or more years related experience in injection molded plastics, to include previous mold set-up.  Processing experience a plus 

         Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods

         Knowledge of machines and tools such as grinders, conveyors and all auxiliary equipment, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance

         Strong shop math skills (may include arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, statistics, and their applications)

         Safety shoes required
