Oncology Director - Full-time / Part-time

Great Opportunity for a Director of Oncology Nursing in Northern California.

The Oncology Director will coordinate available resources to efficiently and effectively provide professional patient care services to a quality consistent with nursing standards. The RN Director will assume 24 hour responsibility for the management and direction of patient care in the Cancer service departments to include Chemo Therapy, Ambulatory Infusion, Outpatient Medical Oncology and Radiation Oncology.

The RN leader will establish a relationship with the inpatient services serving as the Cancer nursing liaison for inpatient oncology and delegate authority as appropriate.

The Director will have a professional commitment to growth, be creative and innovative and demonstrate competency in interpersonal communication, leadership ability, and problem-solving skills. The Director will assist the Area Cancer Services Director and the VP/CNO in planning, implementing and monitoring hospital wide Nursing initiative.

The Cancer Department Director will manage the Cancer Service Line, business development, operational, and financial oversight. The Oncology Director will evaluate the operational performance of the service line and collaborates with physician leaders, clinical and management staff to identify opportunities to enhance quality, improve the patient experience, increase patient throughput, decrease costs, and increase the contribution margin.

The Oncology Director will work with the Department of Quality, physician leaders, and hospital staff to ensure that the overall operation is in compliance with policies and all relevant Federal, State, and local regulatory agencies, and JCAHO Standards. The Service Line Director of Cancer Department will have essential functions to improve Patient Outcomes and Document Results, increase Revenues and Contribution Margin while decreasing total cost of care, develop market share, educational collaboration and fund development.
