Service Center Yard Driver - Full-time / Part-time

This role will perform inspections in a depot type environment for inbound and outbound chassis. The employee will perform all duties involving yard stacking, road stacking, movement of chassis with a yard hostler to various locations and procedures for scrapping chassis/stacking axles. Positions are open from 07:00 to 16:00 or 10:00 to 19:00.

• Perform chassis inspections in and out gate with an EIR or handheld testing device
• Move chassis with Yard Hostler, stacking of equipment, load/unload flatbed trucks
• Strictly adhere to all safety rules and regulations
• Safely handle chassis and other items with the lifting equipment (forklifts, pallet jacks)
• Communicate with management on space requirements, backlog of work, inventory issues, etc.

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Must have and maintain a CDL Class A license and TWIC
• 18 months of verifiable driving experience required
• Pass the Pre-employment Screening Program (PSP)
• Bilingual is a plus (English/Spanish)
• Yard Hostler experience or willingness to learn
• Forklift Experience or willingness to learn
• Some mechanical and/or parts experience in Intermodal
• Willingness to learn parts system or chassis repairs
• Ability to read and write legibly
• Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time
• Ability to review a written plan and execute according to the stated standards
• Ability to work within a process oriented, fast paced team atmosphere
• Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize workloads and handle multiple tasks

Special Position Requirements

This position may require periodic support and travel to other local TRAC Intermodal Maintenance & Repair activities.
