Senior Financial Systems Analyst

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will support the “end user experience” of existing Hyperion Planning, DRM and FR Studio applications for the Business Planning & Analysis group and other new functional area users. This will be accomplished by leading end-user training sessions, testing new functionality and playing a liaison role with the technical team on identifying solutions to systemic or data issues. The Senior Analyst will maintain a high level of data quality within the system through monthly data validations, ongoing hierarchy management and company-wide reporting initiatives. The Analyst will establish strong relationships with the user community, and engage other Finance teams such as Reporting and Tax, in order to provide a high level of support and to ensure the end user community understands how best to efficiently use Hyperion applications. This position will also play a key role on the project team supporting the implementation of Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and FDMEE.

Responsibilities:

· Provide support to end users by responding to inquiries and providing instruction on proper use, such as entering drivers into the system and running calculations to generate plan data. Develop training materials and conduct hands-on knowledge sharing sessions with new users. Apply technical knowledge to investigate any calculation issues, identify system defects and propose enhancements.

· Collaborate with technical team members on developing defect resolution and new system functionality. Complete required testing on such fixes and enhancements, then work with Finance management on migration timing and deployment.

· Assist with ongoing support & maintenance of the system, including hierarchy updates using DRM and required changes to standard reports in FR Studio. Work with Finance management to further refine and support the monthly process calendar to ensure the Hyperion applications support both month end close and rolling plan timelines.

· Take lead role in completing timely data validations. Research potential causes using both Hyperion and Oracle reporting, and coordinate activities for Finance and IT on proper resolution.

· Develop a solid understanding of both the functional / data flow process and impacts to financial systems. Identify process optimization opportunities to minimize overall support requirements.

· Provide project team and administrator support for the HFM implementation.

Requirements:

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, or a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology combined with relevant experience in Accounting or Financial Planning, is required.

· Required 5 to 7 years of experience working in a financial planning environment, or IT experience supporting Finance processes and initiatives.
  • Hyperion Planning, Essbase, DRM and FR Studio experience is required.

· Experience using Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) and FDM/FDMEE is strongly preferred.

· Experience leveraging Oracle eBusiness Suite (GL, Site Hub) as a data source and reporting platform is strongly preferred.

· Strong documentation and communication skills, to support interaction with all Finance customers, are required.

· Experience working with Accounting, Master Data Management and Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) concepts is required.

· Ability to work independently and to multi-task in a dynamic environment is required.

· Experience using advanced functions, pivot tables and macros in MS Office Excel is strongly preferred.
