The Trust Administrative Officer II (TAO) will assist the Senior Trust Officer in performing fiduciary administrative functions and delivering high level service to Merrill Lynch Financial Advisors and clients, serving as an ambassador for US Trust in their local market. In this capacity the TAO will interface with Financial Advisors and their teams, clients or client's outside advisors, as well as internal colleagues.

It is recognized that candidates may not have the specific technical knowledge outlined below. Applicants who are detailed-oriented, can work independently and have a willingness to learn the required skills for this role are viable candidates. Strong verbal and written communication skills are critical for this position, as it requires significant telephone and written interaction with clients, advisors and internal business partners to support the Senior Trust Officer in their market.  Over time, as the TAO develops proficiency and cultivates relationships with clients, advisors and internal business partners, (s)he would independently oversee/facilitate client requests, projects and ongoing processes.

Technical Knowledge

  • Knowledge of basic trust concepts and vehicles.
  • Familiarity with basic fiduciary and tax laws, fiduciary investment strategies
  • Awareness of the Bank’s risk parameters and the ability to apply them to situations.
  • Knowledge of US Trust Policy & Procedures.
  • Awareness of trust functions and trust operations.

Enterprise Job Description:

The Trust Administrative Officer II (TAO) will assist the Senior Trust Officer and Trust Officer in all phases of account/relationship administration. The TAO will coordinate the internal delivery of services through the appropriate channels within the Fiduciary Services Group and/or Trust Operations to include, but not limited to account funding, processes involved in account opening and funding, account review, transfer of information as it relates to account closings, ensuring that recurring remittances are processed in a timely fashion and that client bills are paid promptly. The TAO will also provide a high level of service to Merrill Lynch advisors and clients, assisting in the handling of inquiries, either directly or as a research resource, from Trust Specialists, Financial Advisors, clients or client's outside advisors.
