We are currently looking for enthusiastic, dynamic people to join our team of educators that provide high quality after school programs in the Arcadia, CA. area! 

Our enrichment staff works with elementary age children in the school setting. Site staff are responsible for providing safe, engaging and meaningful after-school and extracurricular programs to enrich the lives of students, give parents peace of mind, and enable schools to focus on their academic mission.

 

We are currently seeking Part-time Site Directors and Site Teachers

 

Site Director

Requirements

Existing fingerprints on file with the state of California AND 16 hours of preventative health training (4 CPR/4 First Aid/8 health). All training must be within the last 2 years.

 

*(8hrs of Preventative Health can be scheduled if hired, but must be completed before the first day of work)

 

Skills & Experience:

Licensing Option 1:

Education & Certifications: HS Diploma/GED and 12 core semester units in Child growth and development/Child, family and Community/Child and Family/ Program Curriculum and 3 semester units in Administration or Staff Relations 4yrs teaching experience in a supervised group child care center.

 

OR

 

Licensing Option 2:

Education & Certifications: An Associates of Arts Degree in Child Development with 3 semester units in Administration or staff relations.

Experience & Background: 2yrs teaching experience in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.

 

OR

 

Licensing Option 3:

Education & Certifications: Bachelor of Arts Degree in Child Education/Development with 3 semester units in Administration or staff relations.

Experience & Background: 1 yr. teaching exp. a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program.

 

OR

 

Licensing Option 4:

Education & Certifications: (STATE PREFERRED) Child Development Site Supervisor Permit or Program Director Permit- Issued by California Commission on teacher credentialing.

 

 

Site Teacher

 

Education / Experience

•  Current Child Development Associate teacher permit

 

OR

 

•  Current Child Development Teacher Permit

 

OR

 

•  Current Child Development Master Teacher Permit

 

OR

 

•  12 postsecondary semester units in early childhood education or child development (units to include child growth and development, human growth and development, child, family, and community, or child and family and program/curriculum. PLUS, 6 months’ work in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program, and at least 3 hours per day minimum of 50 days within the 6 months.  Each year of teaching must be verified with 3 letters of reference written with Original signature to account for employee working minimum of 3 hours and 50 days within a 6-month period. Supervisors they had must have been qualified as a teacher or director according to CA regulations.

 

OR

 

•  Current/Valid Child Development Associate (CDA) credential with appropriate age-level endorsement issued by the CDA national credentialing program of the council for Early Childhood Professional recognition. (Valid for 3 years from date of award).  PLUS, 6 months’ work in a licensed child care center or comparable group child care program, and at least 3 hours per day minimum of 50 days within the 6 months. Each year of teaching must be verified with 3 letters of reference written with Original signature to account for employee working minimum of 3 hours and 50 days within a 6-month period. Supervisors they had must have been qualified as a teacher or director according to CA regs.

 

 

•  School Age exemptions:

May substitute 20 training hours for each of the required units of education required. Units and training hours may be combined to meet the total educational requirements. (12 units or 240 hours of training hours, or any combo thereof). Substitutions may include any combination of the following. Recreation, art, music, dance, Physical Education, Human services and social welfare - nursing, psychology, sociology, home economics. Teacher is required to complete 6 units or 120 hours of training prior to employment and continue to pursue education

•  Strong classroom management skills with the ability to use and model appropriate positive discipline

•  First aid and CPR preferred

•  Works well in a team environment

 

16-hour preventative health certificate

16 hours broken down - 4 hours CPR, 4 hours First Aid & 8 hours Preventative Health (used to be 7)

 

Abilities

•  Must be able to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 25 pounds 25% or less of the workday

•  Must be able stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl 50% or less of the workday

•  Must be able to talk, see, hear, concentrate, think, learn and reason for all of the workday

•  Must be able to sit and walk or otherwise move around for prolonged periods of time throughout the workday.

 

 

 

All positions require 100% dependability!  First Aid and CPR certifications are a plus.  Bilingual is also a plus.
