Our living wage certified partner is looking for a printing press helper. This position could lead to permanent hire with the company.

Pay is $10.50/HR or BOE, and after permanent hire, it will increase to over $12/HR.

Night shift- 10:55pm-7:05am, M-F with some Saturday O/T

 

Job Summary:             Primary responsibilities for the printing press helper are to provide assistance to the press operators in the daily operations of the large and small format offset printing presses.  Duties include the stocking of material; setting up and loading the presses; making ready the presses for operation; cleaning up presses, printing plates and work areas and monitoring the level of ink during press runs according to job specifications.  Other duties include assisting in routine machine maintenance, and troubleshooting machine malfunctions. 

 

Job Duties:

 

  1. Prepare and stock work area for start of shift, which include necessary materials and paperwork.
  2. Assist in the set-up and make ready of the printing presses to print on plastics or other material ensuring correct print registration and color.
  3. Load the printing presses according to job specifications.
  4. Add inks according to ink specifications matching ink color to the color key and/or sample provided in job jacket.
  5. Assist in routine press maintenance and troubleshooting in the event of press malfunctions.
  6. Complete all necessary paperwork required.
  7. Clean presses, plates, work areas between jobs and at end of shift.
  8. Clean and stock work area in preparation for next workday or shift.
  9. Perform these and other duties as signed by supervisor or other appropriate management personnel.

 

 

Qualifications:

 

High School Diploma.

Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Basic math and reading skills.

Ability to multi-task.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Ability for paying attention to detail (detail oriented).

Prior experience in a printing environment preferred.
