It is the intent of the Board of Directors that the Nurse Practitioner develop their own practice of medicine and also complement the health care services of their physician colleagues in the group. Nurse Practitioners are to provide the highest quality health services in keeping with the group's mission. Nurse Practitioner is responsible for assuring the delivery of effective individualized care in our service. Assesses, develops, and implements plan of care for hospitalized patient, which includes identification of actual and potential problems, hospital discharge, and follow-up care. Evaluates patient response in relation to established goals and treatments.

Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program with completion of a Master's degree in Nursing. If credentialed under other guidelines, the NP must be able to attain certification and re-certification as an Adult, Family or geriatric NP; minimal educational preparation under this arrangement is the Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing.

Certfications/Licenses:

Must possess a current State of Indiana Nursing registration.

Must have current certification as a Nurse Practitioner, or be registered to take the next-offered certification examination. Individuals awaiting the results of the certification exam may be hired, pending successful completion of the exam.

Experience:

Minimum three years of general nursing experience.

At least three years of Critical Care / Cardiology experience preferred.
