Position Core Role:

Perform facilities equipment service activities to maintain a high level of customer service in building, equipment, and utility operations. Develop associate skills, and find ways of introducing new technologies and efficiency improvements.

Essential Function and Responsibilities:

Complete preventative maintenance and repairs on equipment and systems (e.g. mechanical, electrical, HVAC). Evaluates and recommends equipment improvements to improve availability, capability, and yield. Perform equipment failure analysis including preventative and unscheduled maintenance. Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment problems. Participate in a reliability centered maintenance program for equipment. Complete daily task of emergency and unscheduled related work. Participate in team activities to develop and maintain long term equipment reliability. Proactively communicate with leadership, team members, and customers utilizing appropriate methods to consistently provide accurate and timely information. Responsible for total equipment management through daily and proactive activities to improve operations to support business targets and objectives. Operate in a safe and respectful way that is consistent with HAM policies and procedures. Provide mentorship and teambuilding through work habits, communication, and sharing of knowledge and expertise. Expand and maintain technical expertise through formal and on the job training opportunities. Support and engage in activities that drive new ideas leveraging new technology, new methods, and approaches to positively impact HAM's competitiveness.

Daily Tasks:

Perform daily assigned work order tasks and communicate any follow-up as needed. Enter details and time worked in the equipment management system (Maximo). Order parts needed to complete PM, Planned, or Unplanned jobs. Suggest and revise PM's to properly maintain facilities equipment. Complete follow-up on emergency and unscheduled work.

Experience:

Minimum three months' experience in a Facilities environment (industrial or heavy commercial installation). Desired candidate would have a minimum 3 years' experience in a Facilities environment.

Required Skills:

Working knowledge of Facilities equipment, such as HVAC, Refrigeration, Air Compressors, Air Dryers, Boilers, Cooling Towers, Pumps, Plumbing & Piping, and building management systems.

Ability to troubleshoot electrical systems including control circuits up to medium voltage (4160 V) motors and contactors.

Electrical -- ability to troubleshoot 480 V and below. Ability to troubleshoot 4kV and 12kV would be beneficial.

Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly express ideas to get a point across.

Comply with Honda Health and Safety Policies.

Proficient in facility equipment troubleshooting.

Computer skills including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel including Facilities related computer systems (including Maximo).

Working knowledge of facilities control and monitoring systems (e.g. Andover, Simplex, ION/Powerlogic)

Self-motivated, creative thinking, and positive attitude.

Continuous improvement and customer service driven.

Position Factors:

Manufacturing plant environment.

2nd or 3rd Shift Position.

5-15 hrs. overtime average per week.

Participate in Honda related improvement activities.

Work area focused on interior and exterior facilities mechanical room and manufacturing floor environment.

Occasional trips to other plants or suppliers.

Ability to work effectively with production, equipment service associates and contractors

Self-motivated, creative thinking, and a positive attitude.

Ability to prioritize and troubleshoot work assignments with efficient time management.

Willingness to work weekends, all shifts, overtime, and shutdowns as required.

Degree:

2-year technical degree or equivalent equipment service experience in a Facilities environment.
