About this job
Growing and established food production facility near Melville, NY seeks Mechanical/Project Engineer.
The successful candidate must have a 4-year college degree in Mechanical Engineering + 1-3 years’ of experience in related role.
Hours: Mon – Fri 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Compensation: Competitive salary (contingent upon experience) + benefits, 401K, vacation days, etc.
General Purpose:
Responsible for completing engineering projects by organizing and controlling project elements. Coordinates engineering projects with plant personnel, external engineering firms and contractors. Responsibilities to include, but not limited to; oversight of project engineering, project design, and project installation up to and through commissioning of a project.
Some main duties include but not limited to:
•Determines project specifications by studying product design, customer requirements, and performance standards; completing technical studies; preparing cost estimates.
•Controls project plan by reviewing design, specifications, plan and schedule changes; recommends actions.
•Controls project cost by approving expenditures within approved spending limits.
Requirements (please only apply if you have all the below):
- BS Degree in Mechanical Engineer
- A working knowledge of mechanical, electrical and process production engineering
- Experience using CAD/CAM software
- Experience with project management, manufacturing methods and procedures, process improvement
