Providence is calling a per diem, night shift Respiratory Therapist - NICU to the Providence Saint John's Health Center in Santa Monica, CA.
In this position you will:
* Assess needs, administer and evaluate responses to respiratory care procedures such as oxygen therapy and bronchial hygiene therapies such as HHN and PD/CPT.
* Provide invasive and non-invasive mechanical ventilatory support and CPR.
* Attend high-risk deliveries and evaluate newborns status including intubations when necessary.
* Perform arterial, capillary, and cord blood draws and analyzed with an Arterial Blood gas instrument.
* Assist nursing staff with EKG's and Cardiac Heart Disease screening tests.
Required qualifications for this position include:
* Registered Respiratory Therapist ( RRT ) certification
* Note, Respiratory Therapists credentialed prior to 1/1/15 are grandfathered as CRTs
* Current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP ) License in the State of California
* Current Basic Life Support ( BLS ) certification for Healthcare Providers sponsored by the American Heart Association
* Current Neonatal Resuscitation Program ( NRP ) certification
* Current Pediatric Advanced Life Support ( PALS ) certification
* Minimum One year experience following Respiratory Care Practitioner ( RCP ) licensure
* High School Diploma or Equivalent
Preferred qualifications for this position include:
* RRT is preferred for all therapists
* RRT-NPS
