Shear assistant - Full-time / Part-time

Machine shop is looking for Machine Operator Assistants. The job description is below.

-Checks width, length and squareness of material from customer requirements to assure accuracy
-Assist operator to move position and hold hot rolled steel sheets for shearing operation using push bar and plate wrench.
-Pushes steel sheets against squareness guide to align sheets under knife blade using long handle push bar and air vacuum.
-Positions and holds steel plate on shear block to prevent movement during shearing operation using machine stops.
-Assist operator in changing shear knife blade using hand tools.
-May lubricate knife blade and shear table using oil can.
-Bands and packages material.
-Load and unload machine.
-Must possess basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division).
-Must be able to read and comprehend instructions as written.
-Must be able to operate a forklift and overhead crane.
