Job Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting in the planning and delivery of recreational (activity) programming designed to meet and honor the physical, social, spiritual, sensory and psychological needs of all residents, based on an assessment of their individual needs and interests. This position requires a flexible schedule, including evening and weekend hours.

 

This position will be part-time at 20 hours a week with the primary hours in the Memory Care community.

 

Responsibilities:

  1. Assists in the activity department, according to resident/client needs, interests, and functioning levels. 
  2. Assists in performing assessments of residents' recreational needs.
  3. Assists in the planning and conducting of individual and group activities, events, and outings to meet the assessed needs of residents, provides transportation using facility vehicle and documents resident participation in recreational and activity programming.
  4. Provide sporadic activities for Memory Care residents.
  5. Create fun and exciting activities for residents.
  6. Help get residents ready to participate in events and activities
  7. Help assist the Resident Assistant staff serve meals during meal times
  8. Empowers residents to develop interpersonal relationships, socialize effectively and develop confidence to participate in individual and group activity programming.
  9. Performs additional tasks as assigned by the Life Enrichment Manager.
  10. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Work Experience Required: Related experience preferred
  • Certified Nursing Assistant license preferred
  • Able to follow all safety rules, regulations, policies and procedures of the site including but not limited to: Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, Resident's Bill of Rights, OSHA, Universal Precaution and SDS.
  • Good steward of time and resources.
  • Able to communicate effectively including written and verbal skills.
  • Able to work well both individually and as part of a team through respect, collaboration and dedication.
  • Able to prioritize and organize work effectively and efficiently.
  • Must be flexible and adaptable to changing situations including able to work irregular hours, attend meetings and special events.
