Job Summary:

Under the direct supervision of the pharmacist(s) on duty performs technical and manipulative tasks required to receive, prioritize, record, process, fill, deliver and bill medication orders and stock requisitions, inclusive of those which require the preparation of IV admixtures or other sterile products. Assists in the procurement, receipt and proper storage of drugs and general supplies. Interacts frequently with patients, visitors, hospital staff, physicians and/or vendor representatives. Maintains appearance and integrity of work area. Demonstrates competence to provide aspects of pharmaceutical care for neonatal (birth-11 months), pediatric (12 months-11 years), adolescent (12-17), adult (18-65), and geriatric (66-over) patients.

Certifications:

* Registered as a Pharmacy Technician by the Kentucky Board of Pharmacy

* Active Pharmacy Technician certification

Education:

* High School Diploma or equivalent

* Graduation from an accredited Pharmacy Technician training

Experience:

* One year of hospital work experience or retail pharmacy experience preferred
