SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITY:

Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Production Department, including adherence to production schedules, operating within budget, effective management of all Production personnel and related activities to ensure that an environment of cooperation and respect is maintained.

International Tier 1 supplier to Volkswagen. Company is located in Chattanooga, TN.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Oversee daily activities of the Production Lines on the appropriate shift. Plan, coordinate and advise department employees of daily tasks.
  • Monitor production, Materials and Maintenance processes to ensure smooth flow. Receive and resolve operation problems for all departments.
  • Monitor performance for production department with regards to following the company’s policies and procedures (i.e. Housekeeping, 5S, safety, and prompt break schedules, etc.)
  • Ensure productivity, efficiency and quality standards are achieved on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for enforcing the Supervisors to follow the progressive discipline procedures, including consultation with the Department Manager, completion of required documentation, and disciplinary meeting.
  • Review all LOAs within the department, compare with staffing requirements, and approve/deny request based on production requirements.
  • Ensure pre-shift meetings are given to all department staff to discuss safety, productions, and quality related goals.
  • Prepare written evaluations and counsels Supervisors as required.
  • Develop and maintain a team oriented atmosphere at all times.
  • Audit training matrices quarterly
  • Maintain proper records and backup documentation.
  • Communicate to all levels of the organization in regards to safety, morale, efficiency, quality, and discipline.
  • Attend all monthly employee meetings
  • Respond to employee issues, concerns, suggestions and complaints within 48 hours.
  • Provide feedback to employees (both positive and negative) on an ongoing basis.

 HEALTH, SAFETY & ENVIRONMENT

  • Participate in monthly JHSEC inspections
  • Responsible for review of completed accident/incident report, and follow-up on corrective actions. Please Note: In the event of a major event ensure a worker member of the JHSEC is informed and assists with the investigation.
  • Advise all employees of the existence of any potential or actual danger to health & safety of the worker, of which you are aware.
  • Review inspections.
  • Use, provide, and enforce company issued PPE.
  • Follow and enforce all of the company’s health & safety rules and policies.
  • Communicate and follow all emergency procedures to department staff.
  • Must participate in all company related safety programs.
  • Comply with legislative requirements as it pertains to safety

 MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum of five years of production management or shift lead experience in an automotive assembly or manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • This position will be rotating between 1st and 2nd

 SALARY

Starting salary of $50,000 – 60,000 per year. Over time compensation on top of salary. Excellent benefits. This position is NOT temporary or contract. This position is full time, direct hire with immediate benefits.
