Overview:

The Service Manager directly supervises service personnel and acts as lead technical liaison between various service staff, sales personnel and management. The Service Manager will be working in the branch office in Laurel, MD approximately 40% of the time and will be out in the field approximately 60% of the time. The territory covers Maryland, D.C., and Northern Virginia. 

Responsibilities:

 

Service Manager Major Duties:

  • Makes assigned customer calls and diagnoses problems to a module or specific component.
  • Monitors parts, supplies or tools needed by the departments to complete services
  • Supports the Service Coordinator and Service Parts Coordinator functions
  • Insures that standard response times committed to by the Service Coordinator are met
  • Recruits, hires, trains, and develops all service staff
  • Works with Service Parts and Service Coordinator so that all required paperwork is submitted and complete
  • Monitors the process of defective modules, assemblies or parts returned to the local office or manufacturer’s are handled properly
  • Assists other Administrative staff on maintaining optimal branch inventory levels
  • Assists the Sales Department in pre and post equipment sales activities
  • May assist in or carry out the function of Service Coordinator, Parts Coordinator and Service Technician as required
  • Performs other Service Manager duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

Service Manager Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years experience as a dental service technician or similar experience with acceptable performance and productivity.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record required.
  • Technical schooling in Bio-med/electronics or related technical field preferred.
  • Service Technician experience preferred but not required.
  • Past management experience of technical staff preferred.
  • Field repair in a dental/medical environment required.
  • Carpentry/plumbing/heating/electricity/electronics related experience required.
  • Strong customer service skills.
