Merchant Assistant Jewelry and Watch Damages

Job Overview:

The Merchant Assistant for Jewelry and Watch Damages will be responsible for processing Fine, Bridge, Better and Fashion Watches when a return authorization (RA) is needed. They will organize and process bounced returned Jewelry return to vendor (RTV)’s. They will manage the previously owned jewelry business. This position is located in the Secaucus, NJ distribution center.

Essential Functions:

• Manage the previously owned jewelry process.
• Process and Track RTV’s to M&G jewelers of refurbish product.
• Partner with central to create purchase orders and receipt pre owned product.
• Manage the bounced RTV process.
• Identify the merchandise. Partner with MIO to correct owned at and sty-move styles as needed to manage the inventory.
• Process mark out of stock and prepare the merchandise for salvage.
• Ability to work independently. Understand and utilize Macy’s systems and reports.
• Ability to organize, quantify and record all received watch damages, watch or silver salvages, RTV’s and transactions to wholesalers.
• Able to clearly communicate through email the accumulated damages and RA requests to the industry, such as vendors, buying office, and VP of Operations.
• Act as a liaison with the buying office to ensure the disposition of merchandise happens in a timely manner.
• Responsible to pack and weigh cartons.
• Regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.

Qualifications:

Education/Experience

• High School education required

Communication Skills

• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as reports and damaged and salvage procedure manual

Mathematical Skills

• Basic math functions such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

Reasoning Ability

• Needs to work independently

Physical Demands

• This position involves regular walking, standing, hearing, talking, and lifting up to 40lbs
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, or crouching
• Involves close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment

• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on company needs
