Campaign Staff - Full-time

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2 million Americans become ill with antibiotic-resistant infections annually, and 23,000 die from these illnesses. We’ve been working on this campaign for several years now and have been able to convince several restaurants, including McDonald’s, Wendy’s and KFC to stop selling chicken raised on routine use of antibiotics. Now we are working to build consumer pressure to get McDonald's, the largest producer of beef and pork to go all the way and commit to sourcing antibiotic free pork and beef. And in the longer term we are working to pass a bill through the state legislature in the next long session that would stop the overuse of antibiotics on factory farms here in Oregon.

We are hiring summer staff for our office. Students often want to work for us over their summer break because that is when we hire lots of new people, and they can get a job where they can also actually make a big difference on an issue they care about as well as learn valuable political skills they can put on their resume.
